January 31st, 2023 viva magenta 2023 color of the year

The Pantone Color of the Year is a highly anticipated annual announcement in the world of design. Each year, the Pantone Color Institute selects a color that they believe will significantly influence fashion, graphic design and home décor trends in the coming year.

The Pantone 2023 Color of the Year is Viva Magenta 18-750! The Pantone Color Institute describes it as “an unconventional color for an unconventional time.”

“The Color of the Year 2023 merges the richness, warmth, and strength of natural matters with the rich, open horizons of the digital world. The result is a shade of red that expands our horizons of authenticity. The metaverse creates new opportunities for us to express ourselves, and the raw fortitude of Viva Magenta inspires us to do so with confidence and bravery.”

When it comes to interior design, Viva Magenta can be incorporated in a variety of ways that harness its full power. Think velvet couch or lacquered wall! Or dress a neutral room with a pop of Viva Magenta in a pillow or glass sculpture.

How to Use Viva Magenta in Your Home

Jada Console by Theodore Alexander

Choosing furniture and décor is the highlight of designing any space; “the cherry on top” so to speak.

You want to keep your color palette in mind when choosing your furniture and décor. If you stick to a chosen palette, mixing and matching will feel more seamless, especially with a bold color like Viva Magenta. When we think of stand-out colors, we often imagine a Maximalist or Art Deco style. Both interior styles heavily involve bold color choices and whimsical décor.

There are two options: create a focal point or add accent pieces.

Julia Sofa by Hancock & Moore

The Julia sofa from the Hancock & Moore reflects the fundamental values of domesticity and comfort. Julia is a refined and comfortable sofa, perfect for elegance and class.

No. 16 by Christopher Guy

Magenta is regarded as a color of balance and harmony much like this stunningly beautiful contemporary spherical conversation sofa with timeless lines that could form an exquisite centerpiece to a lobby or grand space.

Hatcher Sofa by Lilian August for Hickory White

Her trademark looks blend periods and styles to reflect her signature point of view. Lillian’s mission is always tempered to the creation of compelling and livable rooms, which answer to today’s fashion and lifestyles.

A throw pillow or piece of art are other examples of great ways to introduce Viva Magenta into your décor. A little bit goes a long way! Use it as an accent color on walls, in furniture, or in accessories to add a pop of color without overwhelming the space.
